Take a role within a Camp Leadership Team for a camp of 2 nights or longer, that involves at least twelve people (2 Patrols).
During the camp, discuss all aspects of the camp with the Leader / Permit Holder before the start of the event.
Complete 3 OPTIONS & all of the ESSENTIALS section
– [ ] Manage the budget for the camp
– [ ] Choose the campsite & organise the pitching of the campsite
– [ ] Make sure all necessary equipment is organised
– [ ] Plan a menu and organise the shopping, ensuring that camp hygiene standards are met
– [ ] Make sure that all equipment is stored correctly during the camp. After the camp ensure all kit is away properly and ready for use next time
– [ ] Plan a cooking and cleaning rota
– [ ] Take the lead in running a Campfire or other entertainment, including laying and tending to the fire and ensuring it is well controlled
– [ ] Organise the striking of camp and make sure the site is left as they would wish to find it
– [ ] Successfully be issued a Nights Away Passport
– [ ] Invite one of the Damboree Active Support Unit, District Explorer Scout Commissioner, District Nights Away Adviser (UK), or relevant equivalent Commissioner from your Scouting organisation, to your event
ESSENTIALS – Do ALL of these
– [ ] Sleep 2+ nights as part of a Section, Unit, District or larger event or on a Nights Away Event Passport
– [ ] During the camp build a pioneering project free standing Damboree sign or camp gateway using pioneering skills and materials
– [ ] Post pictures, or it didn’t happen, to Facebook using our hashtags
